This easy-as-a-snap hummus recipe delivers the perfect blend of creamy garbanzo beans, nutty sesame seeds, and zesty summer lime. It’s as rich and creamy as peanut butter and oh so fabulloso-ly healthy that your guests will be polishing off the bowl and clamouring for more!
Garbanzo Beans (White China), pressure cooked until very soft
Tahini (Sesame paste), sesame oil may be substituted
Water, as required
Lime Juice, to taste
Salt, to taste
Chilli, optional steamed and chopped or dry powder
Pomegranate seeds, optional decoration
Place the soft garbanzo beans, sesame paste or oil and a cup of water in a large bowl. Blend with an electric mixing stick. Add a healthy splash of lime juice and salt to taste. Add any additional desired flavorings such as fresh cilantro, garlic and chili and blend until smooth and fluffy. Extra water may be required to achieve desired creaminess.
Serve in a beautiful Moroccan Bowl with carrot, radish and cucumber sticks, crackers or French bread and let the taste buds explode! Store in a closed container in the refrigerator to keep the hummus fresh for up to a week!
